RDJ represented Nualight on its recent funding of €9m

30th April 2010

A Cork-based company which supplies energy-efficient lighting for retailers has raised just over €9m from investors.

The main investor in Nualight was Climate Change Capital Private Equity, a €200m fund which invests in green technology companies.

CPE subscribed for €3.75m of shares in a €4.1m fund-raising along with existing shareholders. It has also joined with existing investor ESB novusmodus, the renewable energy investment fund of ESB, to commit another €5m to Nualight.

Nualight has developed Light Emitting Diode (LED) lighting, a semiconductor-based lighting technology illuminating display cases in international food and other retail chains.

CPE partner Simon Drury will take a seat on the Nualight board. Nualight's CEO, Liam Kelly, said: 'We are delighted to welcome CPE to Nualight and look forward very much to accelerating the development of the business from a significantly strengthened capital base.'
