The award of contracts by local and central government, public bodies and utilities is regulated by EU and Irish law. One of the priorities for the public sector is achieving efficient and cost-effective procurement of goods, services and works. This involves careful application of the procurement rules, such as structuring the transaction to best comply with the rules, choosing the appropriate tendering procedure and managing the procurement process correctly.
