The General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") entered into force on 25 May 2018. Despite the concentration of activity leading up to 25 May of last year, data protection compliance remains a journey, not a destination. Staying up to date with the continuous developments of data protection law can be a challenge. Please joint us for a briefing on the most recent developments and lessons learned to date.

Areas covered will include:

  • Overview of the DPC’s approach to handling complaints, conduct of statutory inquiries and amicable resolution of complaints.
  • Data processing operations that require a Data Protection Impact Assessment.
  • International data transfers and application of Article 49 of the GDPR on derogations in the context of transfers of personal data to third countries.
