    Cyber and Data Protection, Litigation and Dispute Resolution




    Finín is a solicitor in the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department, specialising in insurance defence work, with a particular focus on professional negligence claims. Finín is also a senior member of Ronan Daly Jermyn’s Cyber and Data Protection Group.

    Prior to joining the firm, Finín gained a variety of experience with different state agencies in Dublin, including the Law Reform Commission and the legal section of the National Consumer Agency. Following this, Finín worked as a specialist Business Interruption Loss Adjuster in New Zealand, responsible for assessing and adjusting the insurance claims that arose following the Christchurch earthquakes. Finín qualified as a solicitor with Ronan Daly Jermyn and completed a secondment with Triton Global where he gained experience as a Senior Insurance Claims Handler. In this role, Finín worked closely with market leading Insurance companies in respect of professional indemnity cases for solicitors, brokers, architects, surveyors and engineers. Finín also worked with the Special Purpose Fund Manager tasked with assisting in the management of the Law Society of Ireland Solicitors’ Run-Off Fund.

    Finín specialises in data protection and regularly advises clients on issues such as data breaches, data subject rights and the obligations and responsibilities of businesses under Irish and European legislation, with a focus on the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Finín’s specialist knowledge highlights include recently advising a leading global healthcare recruitment company on a significant data processing agreement, advising a large Irish charity on its response to a potential data security breach and advising a large Irish financial institution on its obligations and responsibilities under the GDPR.
