Job Description: Senior Taxation Consultant

RDJ has an exciting opportunity for a senior taxation professional to join our team. As our firm grows, we are looking to expand our team of tax consultants and have created this position in our Dublin office.

The role will work with a broad mix of Irish, international, private and corporate clients and will advise on all areas of tax law. Working closely with the tax team nationally, the role will be responsible for leading the tax agenda in our Dublin office; working in partnership with high calibre professionals in other disciplines, and in particular with our Property and Corporate and Commercial teams.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of the tax practice for RDJ, with the potential to progress to partner level.

Job Description: Proposal specialist

RDJ is seeking to recruit a Proposal/RFP Specialist in our Cork office on a 12-15 month Fixed-Term Contract for maternity cover.

The Specialist will be responsible for developing compelling, clear and thoughtful RFP responses, proposals and pitches from concept to delivery. This will include organising and conducting kick-off calls, determining response requirements, assigning responsibilities, compiling and organising information, creating new content, key message development quality control, and ensuring on-time delivery. The Specialist will be expected to understand the firm’s practices and their distinguishing characteristics such that he or she can draft original content and maintain existing content through regular updating and reporting.

Must have excellent written and oral communications skills, project management abilities. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with lawyers, marketing team and firm-wide personnel to manage the process and prepare high quality, compelling statements of qualifications, pitches and RFP responses
  • Meeting with lawyers to coordinate and co-lead proposal kick-off meetings, discuss strategic approach to winning the opportunity, identify appropriate team and resources needed;
  • Assessing and complying with RFP requirements
  • Developing layout and structure of proposal, production timeline and task assignments
  • Acquiring, developing and drafting original content and adapt pre-formulated content, consolidating information and input from various stakeholders to formulate clear, accurate and effective responses
  • Managing content library, representative experience list, and library of proposals
  • Assist as needed with editing of other written materials such as: presentations, PowerPoint pitch materials, and website content 
  • Handle other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ in business development and/or marketing communications with significant hands on experience in proposal development. Professional services or financial services industry sectors is advantageous but not essential
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, presentation and communication skills. Attention to detail and precision in both thinking and written work product are important
  • Must possess strong business judgment in order to establish and manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a demanding, fast-paced, deadline-driven, detail-oriented work environment
  • Ability to communicate with courtesy and diplomacy, in order to maintain effective relationships with a diverse group of solicitors and business professionals. Team collaboration is critical
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter, exhibit a high degree of initiative and intellectual curiosity

Job Description: Legal Secretary

Location: RDJ Galway

Role purpose:

To provide legal secretarial support in our Galway office; ensure files are managed in an efficient and effective way; collaborate with team members to create a supportive and engaging working environment. This is a 2-year contract role.

Key responsibilities:

-          File management: Open/ set up files
-          Document management: Manage high volumes of typing letters and other documentation; amending documentation as required
-          Court administration: Preparation of court documents and briefs; liaising with Counsel as required
-          Administration activities including filing, photocopying, booking couriers, answering the phone and taking messages for solicitors
-          Invoice managment
-          Other duties as may arise depending on the workload across the Galway office

Background and experience:

-          The ideal candidate will have legal secretary experience with a minimum of four to five years in litigation
-          Experience of working in a fast-paced office environment

Key Skills Required:

-          Strong people skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all colleagues
-          Abiltiy to plan and prioritise and manage multiple activitise at one time
-          Good IT and systems skills
-          Ability to use their own initiative and manage time efficiently
-          Attention to detail
