Ruth Finnerty

Ruth is a Partner, practising as part of our Healthcare Litigation team. She specialises in advising on clinical negligence cases, Coroner’s inquests, healthcare inquiries and regulatory matters. Her clients include public and private healthcare enterprises together with clinical, nursing and allied healthcare practitioners.
Ruth has represented medical professionals in the defence of clinical negligence claims at High Court, Circuit Court and Court of Appeal hearings on the instructions of their indemnifiers Medical Protection, Allianz and the State Claims Agency.
Ruth has also advised medical practitioners in relation to the defence of complaints to the Medical Council and Fitness to Practice proceedings. She represents healthcare practitioners at Coroner’s Inquests. She has also advised practitioners and institutions in relation to internal and external reviews. She has an extensive knowledge of the multiple fora of healthcare inquiries and the regulatory framework within which medical professionals and institutions operate.
