KARL STORZ acquires AventaMed DAC
RDJ advised AventaMed DAC on its acquisition by KARL STORZ, a German medical device company that manufactures and sells endoscopes and surgical instruments.
Based in Cork, AventaMed develops novel ENT medical devices which allows grommets to be placed safely and quickly in an office setting, eliminating the need for general anaesthesia and costly OR time. AventaMed was spun out of Munster Technological University in 2015. After gaining investment support through Enterprise Ireland and several angel investors based predominantly in Ireland, the company developed the Solo+ TTD, a breakthrough single-use medical device that addresses the pain points of the current treatment of the ENT surgical tympanostomy procedure.
Headquartered in Tuttlingen, Germany, KARL STORZ is a global manufacturer and distributor of endoscopes, medical instruments, and devices.
