Our team provide practical, solution-focused legal advice backed by an in depth understanding of the healthcare regulatory environment in Ireland and the changes that are already underway and likely to take place in the future.

The current Program for Government (June 2020) presents this government’s vision for reform and renewal setting out transformative steps that have the potential to deliver radical change and help Ireland recover. Healthcare reform is identified as a specific priority with a focus on protecting public health and patient welfare. Reform is expected to be delivered through the accelerated implementation of the Sláintecare Plan, deployment of new technologies, tele-health and the development of innovative ways to support vulnerable groups as well as new pathways of care.

At RDJ we are committed to supporting clients, in both the public and private sector, as they make an impact in the delivery of healthcare reform.

We do this by

  • constantly looking ahead, actively monitoring innovators and innovations in the healthcare market and across the broad healthcare ecosystem;

  • reviewing investments in cross industry capabilities influencing the evolution of the healthcare ecosystem; and

  • drawing from our in-depth understanding of future developments and existing frictions to help us interrogate existing regulation and assess its implications for our clients.

Our approach

We provide clear insights and practical guidance on which elements of the broad and complex regulatory environment applies to them, whether it be health and safety, governance, accreditation, the processing of patient personal data and data protection obligations, the regulation of medical devices and other health products, or fitness to practice regulation.
